Job Title: Contracts Specialist
Description

  

SUMMARY:

The Contract Specialist is responsible for supporting customer site licensing requests and property leases. The incumbent is responsible for preparing, reviewing and drafting (as to form and standardized legal provisions) of new contracts, amendments and other agreements and resolution of land-related issues related to customer licensing of tower space.  The incumbent is also responsible for reviewing and processing of termination, renewal and assignment requests.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Review all site specific documentation and information for accuracy and completeness as part of “pre-drafting” due diligence which includes but is not limited to review of the ground lease or other underlying property documentation to determine Company’s legal obligations to property owners and document findings for use by other teams.  Review of the approved customer application and business terms will also be required.
  • Prepare the content and approve pricing of new license agreements and amendments to license agreements in accordance with national and non-national master agreements and/or negotiated market rates.
  • Draft lease amendments and notice letters for land-related transactions.
  • Ensure all new contracts and amendments are drafted accurately and within seventy-two (72) hours of request.
  • Work with internal teams and external customers to identify land use-related issues that may delay or inhibit a customer’s ability to license space on a particular asset.
  • Develop a high level understanding of Company’s contractual rights and obligations with regard to particular customers.
  • Communicate with Collocation Project Managers, Key Account Managers and Land Lease Representatives on a daily basis regarding revisions, corrections or discrepancies with contracts and ensure all complex legal issues are coordinated with the Legal Department to ensure expeditious resolution consistent with Company policies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

·         Excellent organizational skills

  • Excellent oral and verbal communication skills
  • Detail oriented, able to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Excellent follow up skills
  • Ability to work in high volume and time sensitive environment
  • Self-motivated, able to work in a team and independently
  • Ability to negotiate with customers and landlords
  • Knowledge of lease and contract drafting principles
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • University degree or two years industry experience required
  • LLB or Diploma-in-Law with minimum of 2 years experience preferred
