Job Title: Security Manager
Description

 SUMMARY:

Our client, a multinational and a leading owner and operator of communications sites for the wireless and broadcast industries is looking to recruit a Security Manager for Uganda operations.

 

Job purpose

The Security Manager will be responsible for performing fraud investigation reviews to detect suspicious activity, investigate trends and risk in regards to fuel, batteries, generator and other similar elements theft of the company owned and maintained tower sites. The incumbent will be responsible for protecting the Company’s business by identifying and analyzing major risks to our assets, performance, reputation, continued company growth and success. The Security Manager will recommend, develop and implement fraud and risk strategies to senior business leaders for the ongoing management of fraud/theft prevention initiatives. The incumbent will also partner with external vendors responsible for hiring security personnel at sites to ensure contractors are well versed and trained in the company’s compliance and theft prevention processes and procedures.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

·         Develop pro-active initiatives to prevent losses by creating and implementing programs to mitigate the risk

·         Lead and direct investigations on all acts of reported theft upon receiving information from Site Supervisors, Management, external vendors and customers

·         Identify risks or vulnerabilities which may affect the profitability of the Company through risk management audits, awareness of exposure, frequent visits to assigned locations, analysis of investigations results and historical records

  • Builds relationships within the organization to better understand all of the potential risks which may cause harm to our assets, performance, reputation, continued company growth and success

·         Partner with security firms responsible for on-site security personnel at tower sites to ensure they recruit and retain honest qualified security guards for all tower sites and to train personnel on company’s on-site security procedures to mitigate risk of theft

·         Lead initiatives to identify emerging fraud and theft practices and makes presentations to senior management on trends, analysis and impact of identified trends on department practices

·         Create and direct the implementation of emergency plans and procedures to respond immediately to theft inquiries

·         Represent Company at conferences and seminars related to risk management and maintain a strong network of contacts within legislative bodies and law enforcement departments

·         Develop and maintain risk management policies to comply with country legislation and industry practices

·         Responsible for maintaining knowledge and experience of field and industry

·         Expert understanding and utilization of fraud detection tools.

 

OTHER:

  • Other duties as assigned.

 

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage a small team of 2-3 supervisors responsible for inspecting and auditing reports detailing the ongoing and completed work by contractors to conduct a full risk analysis               

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

·         Excellent organizational skills

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Detail oriented, able to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Excellent follow up skills
  • Ability to lead and supervise a team
  • Ability to work in high volume and time sensitive environment
  • Self-motivated, able to work in a team and independently
  • Strong computer skills including Oracle, Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel
  • Formal project management training and skills
  • Self-starter with strong desire to work on projects that drive significant business impact
  • Effective interpersonal skills and strong team player.

 

 

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor degree or five years property or real estate accounting experience required
  • Experience working with property or real estate software, and preferably Oracle products.
  • Minimum 3 years supervisory experience required
  • Experience in the tower or carrier industry strongly preferred
