MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR
Our client, a group of large manufacturing companies based in Nairobi and with sites across the country and within the East African region is looking for a qualified individual to fill the position of Maintenance Supervisor.
JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB PURPOSE:
To develop and implement follow-up preventive maintenance programs for all machines, equipment and other facilities and installations on site for maximum life, productivity and efficiency.

KEY RESULT AREAS:
-To develop efficient and effective preventive maintenance programs for all equipment and machines
-To implement budget controls and monitor the maintenance budget to ensure no over expenditure.
-To organise direct and motivate the maintenance team to optimize productivity.
-To provide effective support and project management to ensure company projects are completed within the scheduled times and cost.
-To provide sound technical and engineering maintenance advise for equipment, machines and facilities improvement.
-To facilitate competitive sourcing of cost value engineering services to maximise company returns.

COMMUNICATIONS AND WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
Ø -Liaising with external suppliers for engineering spares supply, fabrication of parts and service delivery to ensure maximum uptime
Ø -Liaising with external contractors during project execution within the company to ensure project uptime
Ø -Liaising with Mill manager on scheduled maintenance to ensure minimum downtime on production.
Ø Operators on maintenance requirements

SCOPE FOR IMPACT:
-Ensuring preventive, condition based and time based maintenance schedules for machines and equipment to attain reduced EDT.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Ø BSc Mechanical Engineering plus 2 years working experience in a Supervisory position in a busy manufacturing environment
OR
Ø HND in Mechanical / electrical Engineering plus 5 years hands on experience in a busy manufacturing environment.
Ø Hands on experience on modern PLC operated process equipment
Ø Ability to read and interpret technical data, drawings as well as manuals.
Ø Computer literacy.
Ø Proven ability in Project Management is an added advantage
Ø Self drive in work and ability to meet deadlines
