EXECUTIVE HEAD CHEF
Our client, a recreational centre with a number of restaurants and entertainment centers in Kampala seeks a dynamic individual to fill the position of executive head chef.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Training and managing kitchen personnel.
· Supervising and coordinating all related culinary activities.
· Estimating food consumption and requisitioning or purchasing food.
· Selecting and developing recipes.
· Standardizing production recipes to ensure consistent quality.
· Establishing presentation techniques and quality standards;
· Helping in planning and pricing menus
· Ensuring proper equipment operation/maintenance
· Ensure proper safety and sanitation in kitchen.
· The executive chef may cook selected items or for select occasions.
· Overseeing special catering events and offering culinary instruction and/or demonstrating culinary techniques.
· Directly supervising kitchen personnel with responsibility for hiring, discipline, performance reviews and initiating pay increases.
REQUIREMENTS
- Degree or diploma in Catering/F&B
- The ability to manage in a diverse environment with focus on client and customer services is essential to success in this role.
- 4-6 years previous experience with control food and labor cost, demonstration cooking, and menu development
